Together in Hope – Emerging PHPCUK Youth Movement

PHPCUK recognises that young people need to be designing solutions and approaches for the challenges and opportunities they face. We urgently need the imagination, entrepreneurship, experiences, and voices of young people to engage with the topic of death, dying, loss, and caregiving to ensure that this and future generations of young people are better supported.

We are all affected by serious illness, death, dying, loss and caregiving.

However this is not experienced equitably with some people having poor care and support due to their social or cultural backgrounds. It is time for this to change.

We are also facing a super-aged society with more older people than younger. With lots of focus on healthy ageing what is being missed is the impact of a super-aged society on young people – both the positives and the negatives.

We cannot do this without you! To start this programme off we are:

  1. Running a series of webinars aimed at 17-23 years olds to hear about how other countries are involving young people. These will be free and will be recorded. Also welcome are interested parent and youth leaders. Each webinar is 90 minutes.
  2. Putting out a call for expressions of interest to join the PHPCUK Youth Board from 17-23 year olds. This is a voluntary board with the opportunity to develop skills, agree priorities and run a project on an area of interest relating to death, dying, loss and caregiving.
